About Sarah

15 Apr 2011

I have been working for Virunga National Park since January 28th 2011.

Growing up in Jersey I was very lucky to have access to the Durrell Wildlife Park, where they focus on the protection of endangered animals which includes gorillas. From a very young age I remember going to visit the animals housed there with the Lowland Gorillas always being a highlight of the trip. So to now be working out here in DRCongo in a job that helps facilitate others to visit the even rarer Mountain Gorillas is very special to me. The chance to get to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is a lifetime experience that I can’t recommend it highly enough. I am looking forward to providing all our visitors with a ‘home away from home’ so they too can enjoy discovering how unique Virunga National Park is. Of course there are many other things to see as well as the gorillas, such as the Nyiragongo volcano and the Rwenzori mountains.
